A Message from the Chairman

To the Florida Atlantic community,

I am excited to welcome you back to campus for the Spring 2025 semester. As we enter the next chapter in the history of our thriving institution, there is no doubt that in the near future our community and our country will face new opportunities and unprecedented challenges. My goal as chair is to continue to build on Florida Atlantic’s extraordinary success to ensure that our institution is positioned not only to meet those opportunities and challenges, but to lead in areas of research, academic excellence, and community engagement that will drive the achievements of our students and faculty.

With an eye toward that future, I want to provide you with a brief update on the progress of our presidential search. Later this week, the Presidential Search Committee will conduct interviews of selected applicants. Upon completion of those interviews, the committee will recommend a list of finalists to the chair of the Florida State University System Board of Governors (BOG) for review and approval, as required by BOG regulation. Upon approval by the chair of the BOG, the list of finalists will be provided to the ÎÔÁú×ÊÔ´Íø Board of Trustees, and we will work to schedule campus visits for the finalists during the first week of February. The on-campus visits will include meetings with our students, faculty, and staff.  Please be on the lookout for more information on scheduling, and I strongly encourage our entire University community to attend. At the conclusion of the on-campus meetings, the Board of Trustees will conduct its final interviews and make its selection on Florida Atlantic’s next president, who will be referred to the BOG for final approval.

It's an exciting time to be at ÎÔÁú×ÊÔ´Íø. Let’s make this Spring semester an incredibly productive one.
