FAU Brain Postdoctoral Fellow Awarded NARSAD Young Investigator Grant

The Brain and Behavioral Research Foundation (BBRF) awarded the prestigious聽聽to Adele Stewart, Ph.D., a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of聽, Ph.D., executive director of the FAU Brain Institute and a professor of聽聽in FAU's聽.

The foundation is the nation's top, nongovernmental funder of mental health research grants. The grant will provide $35,000 per year for two years to fund Stewart's research fellowship project titled, "Neural Substrates Driving Region-Specific, Sex- Biased DA Homeostatic Perturbations in the DAT Val559 Mouse Model."聽

"Adele is an outstanding young scientist and lab citizen, whose keen insights have driven our projects into areas I had not anticipated," said聽Dr. Blakely.

"The NARSAD fellowship is quite a feather in her cap and brings honor to the lab, her teammates and FAU."

Since its initiation in 1987, the BBRF has funded nearly $400M in research grants, resulting in roughly $4B in additional research funding for these scientists.
